Samantha Yap is an aspiring Travel Journalist who is fortunate enough to have spent her childhood in 3 beautiful countries: Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. She is 18 and considered a “Global Citizen.” Though Malaysia was her birth country, she doesn't belong to any.

I am Pandora. My life officially fits inside of a rolling backpack. I am 23 years old. I studied journalism, women’s studies and sociology in college. I am a published writer. I’m a regular guy doing the 9-5 thing 5 days a week while living in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. I love to travel but because I don’t quite have the whole “4-hour Work Week” sorted out yet I don’t get to travel nearly as much as I’d like to. The idea of being a Digital Nomad with an online business that is location independent is where I’m aiming at the moment. Life is real, and happening right now. There is no dress rehearsal, there is just the live event. I came to this realization as a kid, and have been on a mission to experience as much of life as I can. I am a husband, and my honey is my partner in life’s adventures. We’ve travelled a bit, seeing some of Europe, the Caribbean, and the Pacific coast of Mexico. My business travel had me in most large American cities, a number of mid-sized cities, London, and India. I lived in Alaska for a couple of years, and Seattle for a few months.
Together we’ve sailed; owned cruising and racing sailboats; crewed on both large and small boats; and run races as Principal Race Officers. I’m certified at the club level, and she’s certified at the regional level. We’ve sailed in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, US Virgin Islands, Chesapeake Bay, NY Harbor, Hudson River, Long Island Sound, Marblehead, and Lake Ontario.

A soon-to-be travel writer. Or at least a wannabe! ;)

For the foreseeable future, starting on 6/6/12, you can find us on the road with a pack on our backs, trekking around the world until we max out our budget. Most people think we’re crazy to quit our jobs, sell our possessions and give up our home, and they’re right — we’re crazy, but we’re not foolish, and we’re also not rich. We’ve planned for nearly a year, reached our money-saving goal and are taking the leap. If we can survive a trip like this as newlyweds, we can conquer anything :)

Adam did a fair amount of traveling as a teen and was able to see much of the United States. From that point on he had caught a bug; The travel bug had a hold of him and wasn’t letting go. And his objective with this blog is document his progress. You will find just about everything there. It's called Vagabond Guide but the site will be much much more than that. A few years ago, three travellers met by chance in a Gambian garden. Discussions rapidly centred on volunteer travel, with one overwhelming and recurring theme – the extant chasm between marketing and reality in a significant number of volunteer offers. Both sides in the equation – volunteers and local communities – frequently find themselves being sold a project idea that bears little resemblance to the real situation.
We began to ask ourselves what we could do to address such potential exploitation … our initial idea was to ‘name and shame’ through targeted campaigning, but over the next few months, another idea took precedence: to achieve positive and long-term change, we would develop our own unique model of ethical volunteering, whereby all parties would be best-served and which would be totally open and honest in all its activities, including financial matters.
