Thailand

The Kingdom of Thailand is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and it's getting more popular. Tourism to Thailand has been increasing between 15-20% every year since 2009 (except 2014). (There are over 40,000 temples in all of Thailand!)

Known as The Land of Smiles, Thailand has been wowing travelers since the 1960's and countless foreigners now call the country home. Find out why. Visit Thailand.

Hidden in the trees of a small hilltop along the coastline in between Koh Samet and Laem Mae Phim Beach is Chao Pho to Kong Shrine. It's one of the more than 40,000 temples scattered across Thailand and easy to drive past without even noticing. However Chao Pho to Kong Shrine is definitely worth visiting if you are in Rayong province, even if only for the amazing view. This is most likely the only Thai navy ship shrine in the country. The entrance to the temple and several small, colorful, elaborately decorated shrines are located at the base of the…
Sitting alongside Silom Road right in the heart of Bangkok lies the Bangkok Seashell Museum. Always a fan of unique and offbeat museums, I decided to stop on in the other day with a friend who was visiting town. The small but modern Bangkok Seashell Museum is three stories and is packed full of thousands and thousands of seashells from hundreds of different species all painstakingly arranged by size and color into elaborate displays. Most have information on where/when they were found. Was quite surprised to see that the shells here come from countries around the world, not just Thailand…
The beautiful island of Ko Samui is one of Thailand's most popular islands with tourists. As such, it's important to know a few key details when planning your trip, such as the right time of year to visit, where to stay and how to avoid the crowds. And that's exactly why I am here! About The Island Ko Samui was a self-sustained island with no roads at all until the 1970's, when the first few adventurous backpackers started arriving one at a time via local boats. It was in the 1990's that the island started to gain an international reputation…

Over the years, I've hit -- and had fun -- at countless party destinations. Don't get me wrong, when you have 51 weeks of work a year and but one week off to go wild, being at a location with an ample supply of bars is pivotal. However sometimes when traveling with the family or in search of beauty and culture, traveling beyond the party is a necessity. Nowadays so many popular tourist destinations are synonymous with partying, unfortunately. Bali, Indonesia. Cancun, Mexico. Vang Vieng, Laos. Phuket, Thailand. But each one offers so much more. Even though Phuket has a…

Do I need warm clothes? Do I need to bring my hiking boots? Or is my toothbrush, tickets and passport enough? In only a few days before I'm off to Thailand. I'm excited, chaotic and nervous. Its my third or fourth time that I will be visiting Thailand but I'm still worried. Worried I'll forget something. Now I have to pack my backpack and every time its a challenge. I always pack too much, but for the first time I’m going backpacking for a short time. Only two weeks, which means that I don’t need a lot and anything which…
Visiting Bangkok at any time of year is a great choice. Visitors from around the world will enjoy the fascinating culture, incredible attractions and friendly residents regardless.
