Although I’m more of a mountain person, I’ve definitely visited many great beaches and coastal towns. Since this week’s FriFotos theme is coast let me share with you some of my favorite coastal locations.

My favourite place? Hard to say but I have fond memories of Langkawi in Malaysia.
Ahhhh, Langkawi eh? Got an offer from a new resort there while I was in Malaysia last year but ended up passing on it because I didn’t have the time. Now I wish I hadn’t! Ahhh well I need to go back to Malaysia at some point this year so I’ll have to be sure to visit Langkawi. Thanks for the suggestion!
Awesome photos Derek! I love coastal life and think Canada has some great spots – Newfoundland and Cape Breton on the east and the Sea to Sky highway on the west!

Thanks. Yeah, I haven’t explored enough of Canada’s coastal spots yet regretfully… One of these days I’ll make it back there.
My current favorite is Pearl Farm Beach Resort in Davao Philippines. Paradise. 🙂

It’s a nice place to visit but not nearly as picturesque as the pearl farm 🙂
Ha, not a contest here good sir, but you have gotten me into FF lately. Good topics too the past couple weeks as well! I’ll get around there again soon after I figure out my income situation. Totally not leaving Southeast Asia for good mate, just seeing a bit of Europe and seeing how far I can stretch my dwindling budget. ZOINKS! Haha.
I love mountain too but I love beaches more since it is easier to get to. Haha
For my favourite coast, well, Singapore I think. So nice! Haha
But next week I am going to Tioman Island for a quick getaway travel. So, I will post the photo later. Reason being, in Malaysia, I have only been to Penang, Langkawi and the islands at TAR Marine Park in Sabah. The widely-talked-about Redang, Perhentian and Tioman – I have never been to!
You mean Sentosa? I went there for the first time a couple weeks ago while I was in Singapore again. It was….well, interesting. Definitely strange seeing a lot of freighter ships off the coast instead of an empty sparkling sea or picturesque sunset. I had a decent time but it was too touristy for me. Then again most beaches are hahaha. Sheesh why do I hate tourists so much when I used to be one, before I started traveling “professionally” hahaha
