How To Spend An Amazing Few Days In Baltimore

When you are looking for a truly unique and beautiful place to visit in the US, you obviously have a lot of options available to you. But some cities are just so incredible in every way that they deserve special mention. Baltimore, Maryland has to be one of them. This is something of an unsung hero in the world of US travel, and yet it’s an incredible place for a quick getaway if you want to see somewhere a little different. Here are some ideas to help you have an amazing few days in Charm City.

Woodberry Kitchen

Eat Well

If you want to find yourself feeling satisfied and full, head on over to Woodberry Kitchen, arguably Baltimore’s best restaurant, and a real favorite for tourists and travelers of all kinds, as well as for many of the locals here. It’s located in a beautiful lofted building with exposed wood, so the setting is really divine. And the food is some of the best you will find anywhere. Whatever kind of meal you are hoping for, you’ll find it here and at a good price too – but make sure that you book in advance as it can book out early.

Stay In Luxury

It has to be said that Baltimore does also have its fair share of amazing accommodation, and a quick search for Baltimore luxury apartments will show you a great set of places that you might want to consider staying. This is really worth doing, as when you are in this kind of city you want to be able to pop out and in regularly, but you also want somewhere that you can really enjoy being in. So one of those luxury places is really going to help you make the most of the experience.

Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland

Get Smart

One of the main sights and attractions of Baltimore is the world-famous Johns Hopkins university. This is one of the best medical schools in the country, if not the world, and even if you are not a budding student yourself it’s a beautiful building to behold, and a great place to just walk around and explore. There is also a lot to do in the local area around it, including many good bookshops and fine places to eat, so it’s something that you should certainly consider on your whistle stop tour of the city.

Shop

If you are a keen shopper, you won’t be disappointed by what’s on offer in Baltimore. It has some of the best options available for shopping, with particular note on its farmer’s market and bazaar. This is a true old-style market which is one of the better ones in the country, and you’ll be able to stock up on all kinds of provisions while you are there. It’s definitely a great place to see if you are trying to make the most of your trip to Baltimore as best as you can.

Baltimore Evermore

Did you know that Edgar Allan Poe passed away in Baltimore? He was buried here too, and both the site of his death and his final resting place have become decidedly offbeat tourist destinations. Elijah Bond, the man who invented the creepy Ouija board game, also rests in peace in Baltimore — just look for the gravestone that looks like a Ouija board.

Even John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of President Lincoln, is buried here in the Booth family plot. His gravestone is plain and unmarked to avoid drawing attention to it… which in a way kind of makes it more noticeable. That, and the pennies you’ll see on top, all placed with Lincoln’s head facing up — perhaps to mock him even after death, or maybe just to show that Lincoln lives on a lot stronger than Booth ever will.

As you can see, there are a lot of things to do in Baltimore to have a great time there.
