Oceania

Oceania

Poor Oceania…..are you a continent, a country, or just a really big island surrounded by smaller islands? Depends on who you ask. Cast aside by Pangaea, scattered across the Pacific Ocean and overlooked by the rest of the world for so long, around 90% of the native plant and animal species found in Oceania naturally evolved there and nowhere else on Earth.

Australian aborigines, ancient Polynesians and other seafaring ancestors were the first to tame this wild corner of the globe. Nowadays the region has become a favorite among discerning travelers thanks to its magical combination of unique wildlife, diverse scenery and captivating history, with just the right dash of remoteness to dissuade the millions of tourists visiting Southeast Asia every year to skip Oceania.
